Program

This section is here to give you an idea of how I develop a program with each
athlete. You will notice that there are no “levels” of programming. You will
also observe that I do not have other people work for me to develop your
programs or use computer generated packages. I tailor each program to meet the
needs and goals for each athlete. It is just you and me working together. For
this reason, I limit the number of athletes that I work with at 10 at a time. I
focus on quality and results!
Each athlete that I work with first completes a questionnaire which provides
me with information about their fitness background, their health history, and
their goals. I then develop a program which I email to each athlete on a weekly
basis. This includes the types of workouts, the intensity of the workouts (heart
rate training and/or perceived exertion), the frequency for each workout, and
the duration for each workout. Important issues such as strength training, sleep
habits, and psychological factors are also included for each athlete. The
athletes that I work with may communicate with me through email on a daily basis
and by phone on a weekly basis. This allows me to assess each athlete’s
training on a consistent basis and to make changes to the training schedule if
necessary.
Many people believe that only professional athletes use coaches. Today,
athletes of all levels and abilities utilize various coaching services in order
